Market Cleaning and Hospital Volunteering by NSS DBCE
On 29th October 2024, NSS volunteers from Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda, and Padre Conceicao College of Engineering, Verna, participated in a community service initiative organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra and the NSS Unit at the SGPDA market in Margao.
The market cleaning drive aimed to enhance the cleanliness and hygiene of the local market area. Volunteers enthusiastically engaged in cleaning activities, demonstrating their commitment to environmental sustainability and community welfare.
Following the cleaning drive, several volunteers continued their community service by visiting Hospicio South Goa District Hospital. During their visit, they met with Dr. Rajendra Borkar, the Medical Superintendent, who shared insights about the hospital’s operations and the importance of volunteer work in healthcare settings. The interaction provided valuable exposure to the healthcare field and emphasized the significance of service.
This not only strengthened community bonds but also fostered a sense of responsibility among the volunteers.
