MESH Report: Installation of 8th MESH Council (2019-20)

The inaugural ceremony of the Mechanical Engineering Students Hub (MESH) for the year 2019-2020 was held on 10^th August 2019 . The Chief Guest for the function was Mr. Lalit Saraswat, Chairman CII, Goa, Guest of Honour Mr. Sagar Ram Sakordekar, Founder Vedic Maths Academy. Also present were Fr. Paul D’souza (Rector), Dr.Neena Panandikar (Principal), Fr. Kinley D’cruz (Director), and Prof.Ajit Salunke (HOD Mechanical Engineering Department).

Mr. Lalit Saraswat (Chief guest)- Chairman of CII Goa council spoke in brief about the changing trends and evolution of the industries. He also explained about the industry being volatile and why each Engineer should possess basic skills of different courses rather than Mechanical. Mr. Sagar Ram Sakordekar (Owner of SRS Vedic Mathematics)- Guest of honour,  mentioned that the Don Bosco College Of the Engineering is ahead of other Institutes in Goa and motivated the students to carry on such enthusiasm to organise such events as it would help in developing the overall skills of the person. Dr. Neena Panandikar lauded the achievements of the students and informed that the college has adopted 5 villages in the state of Goa under the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan. She also mentioned about the incubation centre being launched in the college campus of Don Bosco College of Engineering. Rev. Fr. Kinley D’cruz shared his thoughts and motivated the faculty and students to conduct several such events to build the organising and leadership qualities.

Prof. Ajit Salunke appreciated the efforts put by the students of the MESH council and gave an overview of the events, Industrial visits and the workshops held in the year 2018-2019. Mr. Keegan Pinto, Editor of MESH 2018-19 briefed about all the events carried out by MESH in the last year.

The new MESH council consisting of the Chairman- Bahar Phadte,  Secretary- Royston Antao,  Treasurer- Balesh Mayekar,  Editor- Lincoln Veigas, Lady Representative- Prithvi Amonkar and Student Executive members- Delsy Mendes, Rajay Naik, Tejas Samant, Bradley Rodrigues, Omkar Bhandari, Akash Pawar were inducted by the Chief Guest- Mr. Lalit Saraswat.

Mr. Bahar Phadte, MESH chairman offered a vote of thanks. Various events like Mock Parliament, Torquiz, Blitz Chess and several more events were held as part of the program.

The program was coordinated by the MESH Coordinators Prof. Suraj Marathe and Prof. Sanjeel Naik.
