One Day Workshop on “AutoCAD”
The DBCE Student’s Chapter of Institution of Engineers (India) organized a one day workshop on “AutoCAD” in association with Institution of Engineers (India), Goa State Center and Department of Mechanical Engineering Department, DBCE for second year students of Mechanical engineering on 31st August 2019 in the college campus. In all , 58 students attended the workshop.
The resource persons were Prof. Saurabh Raikar; Prof. Chetan Gaonkar and Prof. Manjunath Narwate. Prof. Saurabh Raikar delivered a session on “Introduction to AutoCAD” thereby explaining the use of software in industry and also briefing about the various commands that are commonly used.
Prof. Chetan Gaonkar delivered a session on “Drawing using AutoCAD” where he gave hands on practice to students to use different commands and prepare the 2-D drawings. Prof. Manjunath Narwate delivered a session on “Dimensioning and Tolerancing” where the students were explained about importance of tolerances and ways to mark them on the drawing.
Students were introduced to the drafting software, the Graphical User Interface and basic drawing, dimensioning, geometric transformation and clipping commands. They practiced with simple 2 D engineering objects.
The workshop was coordinated by Prof. Ramnath Prabhu Bam with constant support and guidance from Prof. Ajit Salunke; HOD – Mechanical Department.
