Orientation Program for the Students of Second Year Mechanical Engineering in Don Bosco College of Engineering.

An Orientation Program was organized by Mechanical Engineering Department, Don Bosco College of Engineering for the Second Year Students of Mechanical Engineering on 5^th July 2019. The major aim of the program was to introduce the second year students to various aspects of the mechanical engineering course and the department.

The event started with Prof. Ajit Salunke addressing the students and introducing them to the faculty members of the mechanical engineering department. He also gave a detailed presentation on the Vision; Mission and Program Specific Outcomes (PSO) of the department. Various activities carried out by the department; industry collaborations; funded projects and other key points were also shared with the students.

Prof. Sachin Turi spoke on Industry Internships and placements emphasizing on the recruitment process and eligibility. He also addressed the students on the disciplinary aspects of the department. Prof. Swapnil Ramani gave an introduction of NBA accreditation process and its importance. He also spoke about the Institutional Innovation Cell (IIC) at DBCE.

Prof. Sanjeel Naik addressed the students about Mechanical Engineering Students Hub (MESH) and the NPTEL certification courses. Prof. Saurabh Raikar introduced the students to FSAI chapter and its benefits. He also briefed them on the NSS-DBCE unit. Prof. Sharad Shanbag spoke about the IEI chapter in Don Bosco College of Engineering and the values it adds to an Engineers’ Profile. Prof. Tanay Rege shared the information about ISHRAE chapter and emphasized on Job Junction organized by ISHRAE.

Students were also oriented to the subjects of 3^rd and 4^th semester and the respective subject teaching faculty explained about the importance of each subject and also the exam structure.
