Preparing for Higher Studies Abroad and Beyond

The Department of Computer Engineering in association with CCodes organized a seminar on 5^th July 2024 on the topic “Preparing for Higher Studies Abroad and Beyond”. The speaker for the session was Ms. Nicole Fernandes. Ms. Nicole Fernandes began the seminar by discussing the benefits of studying abroad, which include: Global exposure, Career opportunities,. Personal growth,  Networking and Cultural exchange . She shared her personal experience and provided a step-by-step guide to pursuing higher studies abroad: Research, Exam preparation, Craft your SOP and CV, Participate in technical and non-technical activities, Build a strong resume and lastly Start applying.

Nicole shared her timeline for the application process, detailing when to start preparing and applying for exams. She emphasized the importance of technical skills, soft skills, and writing compelling essays explaining why universities should accept the applicant. She advised embracing potential, staying self-motivated, giving back to society, and believing in oneself.

The seminar concluded with the motivational quote: “Work hard, dream big, and never give up”. This seminar was arranged by Dr. Gaurang S Patkar.
