The second edition of QuantaQuest, the flagship mathematics event at Don Bosco College of Engineering, was successfully held on 12th April 2025. Organised by SEEDS, First-Year Engineering Students’ Association under the Department of Science and Humanities, aimed to cultivate a love for mathematics and encourage students to explore its creative and practical aspects.

Designed to foster mathematical thinking, the event invited students to connect mathematical concepts with real-world applications, making the subject engaging and accessible especially for young learners. Students participated in teams of 3 to 5, representing their respective branches, and selected topics from the elementary mathematics curriculum. The chosen topics were:

  • Civil Engineering: Statistics
  • Mechanical Engineering: Linear Equations in Two Variables
  • Computer Engineering (Comp 2): Surface Area and Volume
  • Computer Engineering (Comp 1): Number System
  • Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECS): Probability

Each team displayed commendable enthusiasm and originality in their presentations, which reflected their passion for the subject.

The judging panel comprised two experienced educators—Ms. Diana Clemente from Presentation Convent High School and Ms. Zebalda Vas from Manovikas English Medium School. Presentations were evaluated on the basis of mathematical accuracy, conceptual clarity, creativity, and overall delivery. Their insightful feedback added immense value to the learning experience. The event stood out as it inspired participants to view mathematics through a creative and practical lens, deepening their connection with the subject. It was organised by the SEEDS Council and Fcaulty Coordinators, Mrs. Vaishali Parakhi and Ms. Carol Cardozo.
