R&D Session Steefni

Department of Science and Humanities, Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda, held its monthly Knowledge Sharing Session, under  R&D cell on  September 23, 2021 through  google meet. The session was delivered by Ms. Steefni Cruz on the topic ‘How to Win Friends and Influence People’ – Dale Carnegie: An Overview

Ms. Steefni Cruz quoted the following  “When dealing with people, let us remember we are not dealing with creatures of logic. We are dealing with creatures of emotion, creatures bristling with prejudices and motivated by pride and vanity.” She mentioned, ‘How to Win Friends and Influence People’ by Dale Carnegie is a self-help classic that reads as a life manual. Ms. Steefni Cruz highlighted the core idea of the book is that one can change other people’s behaviour simply by changing their own. She further stated that the book teaches the principles to better understand people, become a more likable person, improve relationships, win others over, and influence behaviour through leadership. The session touched upon topics like the fundamental techniques in handling people, ways to make people like you, the skill of winning people to your way of thinking and being a leader without arousing resentment or offense. The session aimed at giving a basic overview of the book while also imparting key elements in helping the audience to build on their personalities.

The session was coordinated by Mrs.Gladys Da Silva with encouragement from Dr. Kala Nayak- Head of Department – Science & Humanities and was attended by all the teaching as well as non-teaching staff.
