REPORT – BUSINESS IDEA COMPETITION

The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Cell at Don Bosco College of Engineering organised a Business Idea Competition on 8th September 2018 in the college premises. The main objective of the competition was to encourage students to consider entrepreneurship as a career option and foster a spirit of innovation and creativity. The competition was open to all students of the college across disciplines.

Around 26 entries were received which were pre-screened and the best 10 ideas were shortlisted for the final presentation on Saturday 8th September 2018. The judges of the competition were Mr. Ryan Vaz, CEO – Infinyt 3d, Mr. Avinash Vengurlekar, Managing Partner- Shree Investment Consultants and Mr. Manish Gosalia – Founder Earthlings.

The students presented their ideas along with the marketing strategy, financial viability and market opportunity. The first place – a prize money of Rs 4000 was bagged by the students of second year civil engineering Uddesh Bhiku Naik Dessai, Gaurav Shetgaonkar, Sampada Naik and Sharyu Pednekar for their business idea on POP for Internal plastering. The second prize – a sum of Rs.2000/- was bagged by Rohit Gavali, final year Computer Engineering student for his idea on Meals on the Go and third prize was given to the idea Family Binder put forth by third year Computer Engineering student Earl Warren Vaz.
