Report for National Innovation Contest 2020
The second edition of the National Innovation Contest 2020 was announced in the month of February 2020, so that IICs and students will get enough time to go through the complete 360-degree process of learning which starts with exposure to the real-life environment, problem identification, Ideation & solution development, Proof of concept development & validation, Prototype/Innovation development and finally nomination of best of best student innovations from IICs in the National IIC portal.
Students had to submit their entries in the following themes:
- Healthcare & Biomedical devices.
- Agriculture & Rural Development.
- Smart Vehicles/ Electric vehicle/ Electric vehicle motor and battery technology.
- Food Processing.
- Robotics and Drones.
- Waste management.
- Clean & Potable water.
- Renewable and affordable Energy.
- IoT based technologies (e.g. Security & Surveillance systems etc.)
- ICT, cyber-physical systems, Blockchain, Cognitive computing, Cloud computing, AI & ML.
A total of 10 prototypes had been submitted from Don Bosco College of Engineering. 5 prototypes have been nominated by IICs for the next level of mentoring from MIC.
The 5 nominated prototypes are:
- Smart Agriculture using IoT guided by Dr. Vivek Jog. Team comprising of Rohan Bukkam, Sahil Bukkam, Saisha Raikar, Tejal Naik, Sairaj Sawant
- Safety Features for a Two Wheeler guided by Prof. Kimberly Morais. A team comprising of Ahmed Chiragoddin Shah, Jaitali Arun Kunkalkar
- Manufacturing of Building Material Using Industrial Waste guided by Prof. Satyesh Kakodkar. A team comprising of Sainil Ajay Priolkar, Deeptesh Dilip Morajkar, Akshata Anil Fatarpenkar, Saiesh Rajesh Karwarker, Aafrin Khan
- Air to Water Convertor guided by Prof. Gaurish M Samant. A team comprising of Noah Gomes, Gerhard Lourenco, Johan Godinho, Hubert De Barros, Anand Raikar
- Fire Fighting Robots guided by Prof. Mohini Naik. A team comprising of Siddhi Desai, Nixon Coutinho, Pooja Gaonkar, Reecha Mahale, Rochelle Pereira
The above students will be mentored and provided training by IIC-MHRD.
