REPORT OF 9TH INSTALLATION OF DBEATS COUNCIL

The 9^th Annual Installation of DBEATS (Don Bosco Electronics and Telecommunication Society) was held on October 24, 2020 at 10:30am. The Online Installation ceremony was held through Google meet.

The Chief Guest for the function was Mr. Varun Pillai, Associate Manager, Implementation Inventory Sakon, Pune-Maharashtra. Besides the Chief Guest, the occasion was graced by the presence of Dr. Neena Panandikar, Principal- Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda,  Rev. Fr. Kinley D’Cruz – Director, Dr. Varsha Turkar – Head of ETC Department, DBEATS Faculty Coordinators, Prof. Deron Rodrigues and Prof. Michelle Araujo e Viegas and Mr .Kingsley Fernandes– DBEATS Chairperson.

The ceremony commenced with a welcome prayer recited by Mr. Jefin Sam John. Thereafter, Dr. Neena Panandikar, in her welcome address congratulated the faculty and students of ETC department for their various achievements and wished them luck for their future endeavors. Rev. Fr. Kinley D’Cruz congratulated the newly elected members and motivated them with his wise words. Prof. Deron Rodrigues presented a brief comprehensive report of the D-BEATS activities held during the year 2019-2020.

The new DBEATS council members were then introduced by Prof. Michelle Araujo e Viegas.

This was followed by the oath taking ceremony by the following members:

Thereafter, Ms. Madhavi Satarkar, introduced the Chief Guest, Mr. Varun Pillai and welcomed him to address the gathering.

The Chief Guest, in his address shared with students his journey getting from college to career and touched upon the importance of nurturing the things one is good at. He also encouraged the students to gain knowledge beyond the textbook and syllabus. He maintained that one should have a positive attitude towards learning and towards work when one begins his/her career even if the earnings are insufficient.

Dr. Neena Panandikar thanked the Chief Guest for his heartening words.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Rosann Godinho, Secretary of DBEATS student’s council.

The event was compered by Mr. Rajiv Baracho, executive member of DBEATS student’s council. The function was attended by students of SE, TE and BE ETC who joined via online platform.
