REPORT OF MOU SIGNING AND INSTALLATION OF CII-IWN DBCE STUDENTS CHAPTER

The MOU Signing and Installation ceremony of the CII IWN DBCE Students Chapter was held on September 19, 2022 at Don Bosco College of Engineering(DBCE). The compere for the day was Ms. Clarita De Souza.

The Dignitaries present for the day were Director – Rev Fr. Kinley D’Cruz, Principal – Dr Neena Panandikar, Chairperson of CII IWN, Goa Chapter – Ms. Sheetal Pai Kane , Executive Officer, CII Goa office – Mr Fernando Silva , Sales Consultant and Writer – Sonia Kuncalienkar and the Faculty coordinator of CII IWN DBCE Students Chapter – Prof. Melba D’souza. They were welcomed with flowers followed by lighting of the lamp.

A brief history of CII IWN (Confederation of Indian Industry Indian Women Network) was given by the compere, which was followed by signing of the MOU.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Neena Panandikar welcomed the Chief Guest and the other dignitaries present. She expressed her delight in establishing the new CII-IWN students chapter of DBCE. She informed the crowd that this is the first Students Chapter of CII-IWN in Goa. Her enthusiasm was evident as she spoke about this Chapter being a way for women to grow as career women.

The council of the CII IWN DBCE Students Chapter was then inducted, the members of which are:

Chairperson: Ms. Marisa Barreto

Vice Chairperson: Ms. Angel Rodrigues

Student President: Ms Sachi Bokade

Student Secretary: Ms Kezia Fernandes

The Principal bestowed upon them their badges followed by the oath taking ceremony and welcoming of the council members with flowers which was presented by  Ms Sheetal Pai Kane.

Rev. Fr. Kinley D’Cruz then addressed the students. He congratulated the newly inducted council and the student members of the Chapter. He put across the property of waves, that when two waves constructively interfere their amplitude is doubled. He gave an analogy with the aforementioned and this new students Chapter. He said, “when minds with brilliant ideas come together, the impact will be two fold”. He stated that the synergy will yield great achievements. He concluded with the words “Girls with dreams become women with vision”.

Ms. Rachel Fernandes introduced the Chairperson of CII IWN – Ms. Sheetal Pai Kane. Following this, Ms. Sheetal addressed the gathering. She stressed on three key aspects that are the incentives behind the IWN Students Chapter; Inspire, Equip and Empower. She encouraged the members to inspire, aid and empower the young minds they come across. She concluded by wishing the members good luck on the new journey they embark on.

The vote of thanks was proposed by the Secretary, Ms Kezia Fernandes. The event was successfully conducted by the collective effort of the Principal, Faculty-in-charge, student council and members of the CII-IWN DBCE Chapter.
