Report of Workshop Organized by IIC-DBCE titled ‘Prototyping Design and Development of Prototyping – Caking making using 3 D technology.

Institution Innovation Council of Don Bosco College of Engineering organized a workshop on “Prototyping Design and Development of prototyping”, on July 5, 2022 . It was well-received by more than 60 participants which included students, faculties and IIC members. Mr Bradley Rodrigues, the student coordinator started the session with a warm welcome to all the attendees and introduced the guest speaker Dr Suraj Marathe, Innovation Ambassador, IIC Don Bosco College of Engineering and Co-Founder of Jatvam Abiyanntrix Pvt Ltd, Ponda Goa. Speaker introduced the IIC Don Bosco College of Engineering  and gave an overview of its’ function, objectives & activities.

The session started with Dr Marathe telling about the concept generation and the various data collection methods there were required to generate the innovative ideas. The methodology and the work carried out in developing the prototype was explained by the speaker. Dr Marathe went on to say “ Literature review helps to motivate to think about how to innovate the new ideas”. He led the audience in a short exercise to find their related literature. A working video of the cake machine was also demonstrated where the audience could see the different parts and mechanisms of the machine. The speaker also encouraged the students to develop their ideas and enhance their creativity.

The session ended with a Q&A session, allowing the participants to clarify their doubts about how to design and develop the prototype. The vote of thanks was given by student coordinator Mr Bradley Rodrigues.
