Report on National Online Workshop ” Incorporating Universal Human Values in Education” conducted by AICTE
A National On-line Workshop,” Incorporating Universal Human Values in Education”, was conducted by AICTE, from the July 28 – August 1, 2020.
This workshop was about human living (not just living with fulfilment but living with continuous fulfilment, which is the basic human aspiration).
Education is expected to facilitate and plays a crucial role in preparing the people for the realisation of these aspirations. It provides for development of the skills required and it also plays a significant role in the shaping of one’s world-view, mind-set, perspective and values.
This workshop was attended by the Counselling Psychologists, Grebian Alemao and Maya Lin Noronha, faculties of Don Bosco College of Engineering.
The topics covered were, Holistic Development and Role of Education, Understanding the Human Being – Self and Body, Harmony in the Human Being, Prosperity and Health, Understanding Relationship – Trust and Respect, Harmony in the Family, Understanding Society and Nature.
After every session there was a question and answer round and a feedback form was to be filled by every participant.
On the last day of the workshop, the evening session had the Valedictory Program wherein 30 participants were chosen from all over India to give their Self-evaluation & Commitments to their college/ universities regarding UHV development. Counselling Psychologist- Ms. Maya Lin Noronha was asked to give her feedback, wherein she also reported all the various activities carried out by her college and stated she would propose for a UHV Cell in college.
This workshop was very enriching and primarily covered a universal approach for value inculcation. It touched upon a universal approach for the enrichment of culture, literature and health.
