Report on NPTEL Awareness Program 2020
A NPTEL awareness program was conducted for the students of ETC, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Civil engineering (SE, TE, BE) students on 15th ,16th and 20th July 2020 via online mode through Google meet. A total of 400 students attended the session. The agenda for the workshop was how to enroll NPTEL courses and how to fill examination forms, Timeline for July Dec 2020.Student were given idea regarding NPTEL Certificates, fee waiver benefit for SC, ST and low-income students. The importance of Domain courses, mentor, NPTEL Stars, MOOC courses (B.E. with Honor Certificate).
Dr. Neena Panandikar (Principal-DBCE), Delivered a welcome talk and encouraged the students to enroll NPTEL courses based on their subjects. Prof. Amey K. Shet Tilve, (NPTEL coordinator for Department of Computer Engineering) gave overview of the timeline for July Dec 2020, how to Enroll NPTEL Courses, examination forms, certificates, mentor, fee waiver, domain courses, NPTEL Stars. Prof. Christina Barretto delivered session on MOOC courses for second Semester Computer Students.
Prof. Vidhya NPTEL SPOC gave overview of NPTEL courses regarding enroll, filling exam forms, Domain areas for ETC and Civil Engineering students. Prof. Michelle Araujo e Viegas delivered session on MOOC courses for second Semester ETC Students.
Prof. Swaroopa Sail (NPTEL coordinator for Department of Civil Engineering) briefed regarding Domain courses for civil engineering students and Dr. Shwetha P. delivered session on MOOC courses for second Semester Civil Students.
The Awareness program was conducted on Google Meet platform and was coordinated by Prof Sanjeel Naik (NPTEL coordinator for Department of Mechanical Engineering) with help from Prof D.S.Vidhya (SPOC) NPTEL. The BE and the TE students were informed about the various NPTEL Courses available in Mechanical, Management and Metallurgical areas. The students were made aware about the Registration process, Examination process and about the domain Courses available on the NPTEL Platform. The SE students had a separate session about how to get a BE(Honours) degree if they could complete 20 credits across their Four Years and Engineering. They were also explained about the mandatory NPTEL/Swayam Courses in their revised syllabus.
