SCI MINDS SERIES

The Department of Science and Humanities conducted two sessions as a part of their Sci-Minds Series on 13^th April, 2024 for the students of First Year Engineering. The focus this year was on the Methods of Analyzing Greener Living. The event was coordinated by Dr. Kala Nayak, HoD, Sc & Hum and Ms. Esta Pereira, Assistant Professor, Department of Sc & Hum.

The first speaker Dr. Arun M. Isloor, Professor & Former Head, Department of Chemistry National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal deliver a session on “The Path to Clean Water: Advancing Sustainability through Membrane Technology”. The session entailed an overview of membrane technology and its importance in water treatment processes; the various challenges faced while designing membrane technology and the potential of membrane-based solutions towards ensuring clean water for all.

The second session was headed by the speaker Rev. Dr. Bolmax Pereira, Assistant Professor in Botany, St. Joseph Vaz College, Cortalim-Goa. Through his topic “Sustaining Life: Navigating the Threats and Opportunities of Water Pollution” he provided valuable insight into the complex issues surrounding water pollution and highlighted the importance of concerted efforts to safeguard water resources and ensure healthier and more sustainable future for all.
