Session on “Goals and Objectives of Goa State Research Foundation”
Research & Development (R & D) Committee of Don Bosco College of Engineering (DBCE) organized a session on ‘Stakeholders meeting Goa State Research Foundation’ for the faculty members on April 4, 2023. The session started with a broad overview of the Goa State Research Foundation (GSRF) by Prof. Malapati K Janarthanam (Chairperson, GSRF). He spoke about the objectives and goal of Goa State Research Foundation. The session was followed by Prof. Vithal Tilvi (Professor, Goa State Higher Education Council). He highlighted objectives of GSRF such as Fund Research infrastructure ie individual institution, sharing across multiple institutions. He mentioned about Mentoring of Educational institutions by (hiring) Research Scholars, Summer fellowships to (Researchers, Visiting researchers, Faculty and students), Funding the research Proposals to (Seed grant, Mid-career ,Minor and Major projects, Multidisplinary, Doctoral and Post-Doctoral). This was followed by a Q&A session that initiated a discussion on seeking inputs about research and funding so as to incorporate them into provisions after discussions by the Governing Council. The session was attended by about 40 faculty members of Departments of Mechanical, Civil, Computer, ECS Engineering, Science & Humanities of DBCE. Professor, Goa State Higher Education Council – Prof. Niyan Marchon, Director- Fr. Kinley D‘Cruz and Principal – Dr.Neena Panandikar also attended the session. The session was coordinated by Dr. Vivek Jog from Computer Dept. and Dr.Vidhya D S. from ECS /ETC Dept.
