Site Visit to Sahara Constructions, Fatorda

A site visit was conducted for the second-year Civil Engineering students on 11th September 2025 at Sahara Constructions, Fatorda. The students were accompanied by Prof. Vanessa Fernandes and Lab Staff Mr. Vincent Fernandes.

As part of their fieldwork learning, students explored an ongoing G+4 commercial and residential project. The visit aimed to provide practical exposure to building materials, construction techniques, site management, and financial aspects of real-world projects.

The site engineer guided the students through project drawings, construction activities, and site practices, helping them connect classroom theory to practical applications. Students observed alignment checking, plastering execution, concrete grades, plastering ratios, surface preparation techniques (hacking), building material identification, structural elements, space planning, and cost considerations for both residential and commercial units.
