Sports News at Don Boco College of Engineering

Students from Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda, participated in the Swimming , Weight Lifting and Power Lifting inter- collegiate competitions conducted by Goa University.

 Swimming (Men)

The inter- collegiate swimming competition was conducted by Goa University  on  August 20, 2022 at Sports Authority of Goa Swimming Complex Ponda. In all, there were twelve colleges that participated in the competition. The events that were conducted were 200 meters Freestyle, 100 meters Freestyle, 100 meter Back stroke, 100 meter Breast stroke and 100 meter Butterfly. Lyzander N Gomes (TE Mech) participated in the 100 meter Back and 100 meter Breast stroke. Mayur Ramu Chintle (BE Mech) took part in the 100 meter freestyle.

Weight Lifting (Men)

The inter-collegiate Weight Lifting Championship was held on August 23 & 24, 2022 at University Jubilee Hall, in  following weight categories;  1. Up to & Including 55 Kgs. 2. Up to & Including 61 Kgs. 3. Up to & Including 67 Kgs . 4. Up to & Including 73 Kgs. 5. Above 109 Kgs . 6. Up to & Including 81 Kgs. 7. Up to & Including 89 Kgs.. 8. Up to & Including 96 Kgs.. 9. Up to & Including 102 Kgs. 10. Up to & Including 109 Kgs.

Aleister Gomes (TE Civil) participated in the Up to & Including 73 Kgs. and secured a Silver medal. Pratik P Naik of BE Mech took part in the Up to & including 81 Kgs.

Power Lifting (Men)

The inter-collegiate Power Lifting Championship was held from August 25 – 27 , 2022 at University Jubilee Hall , in the following weight categories; 1.Upto & Incl. 59 kgs. 2 Upto & Incl. 66 kgs  3. Upto & Incl. 74 kgs. 4. Upto & Incl. 83 kgs. 5. Upto & Incl. 93 kgs. 6. Upto & Incl.105 Kgs.. 7. Upto & Incl. 120 Kgs. 8. Above 120 Kgs.

Shane Mendes (TE Mech) ,Wallance Fernandes (TE Civil), and Sahil Desai (TE Civil) participated in the Upto & Incl. 59 kgs. Upto & Incl. 66 kgs , Upto & Incl. 74 kgs, respectively.
