Talk on “3D Printing in Healthcare” at Vidnyan Dhara 2025

Professor Ajit Salunke, an Associate Professor in the Mechanical Department at DBCE, presented a lecture titled “3D Printing in Healthcare” at Swastik Vidyalay, Priol, Goa on 14/1/25. This session was part of Vidnyan Dhara 2025, an engaging science series aimed at fostering scientific curiosity among young individuals.
During the presentation, Prof. Salunke introduced students to various 3D printing processes commonly used in healthcare and their practical applications. He discussed the utilization of additive manufacturing in producing biomedical and dental implants, prosthetics, surgical instruments, protective masks, and anatomical models. Additionally, he provided insights into commercial tablet printing machines and recent advancements in 3D bioprinting for tissue and organ fabrication. He captured students’ interest by showcasing engaging videos. Prof. Salunke also educated the students on Reverse Engineering techniques.
