Talk on Challenges Faced by Indian Industry in the Age of Technology organized by GCCI, Panajim
Students of our college (DBCE) attended a presentation titled “Challenges Faced by Indian Industry in the Age of Technology,” organized by the Goa Chamber of Commerce & Industry (GCCI) in collaboration with the Forum of Free Enterprise at GCCI, at Panjim on 27/2/24. Shreyas Silimkhan from the Mechanical Engineering Department along with Blake Lourenco and Musaddiq of the Civil Engineering Department were the participants.
The speaker for the event was Adv. Homi Ranina, a renowned Tax Expert and Senior Lawyer from the Supreme Court of India. Adv. Ranina delivered an insightful presentation on the myriad challenges encountered by the Indian industry amidst the technological revolution. He emphasized the fluid nature of the landscape, focusing on critical issues such as digital taxation, data privacy, and the necessity for robust regulatory framework.
Throughout his discourse, Adv. Homi Ranina also explored the promising opportunities arising from technological advancement. He delved into the complexities faced by businesses in adapting to these changes, underlining the importance of legal clarity in effectively navigating these challenges.
The students’ involvement in the event was an integral aspect of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) established between DBCE and the Goa Chamber of Commerce & Industry (GCCI). The participation of students demonstrates their dedication to staying informed about contemporary issues and gaining valuable insight from eminent professional experts.
