Talk on Entrepreneurship and Innovation Career Opportunities

On 18th February, Mr. Ragvendra Bhat delivered an insightful talk on Entrepreneurship and Innovation Career Opportunities to the second-year Computer Engineering students of DBCE, Fatorda.

During his session, he highlighted emerging and high-potential sectors such as energy and climate change, emphasizing the urgent need for innovative and sustainable solutions in these areas. He explained that innovation can take place across multiple dimensions, including:

  • Product Innovation – Developing new or improved products
  • Process Innovation – Enhancing methods of production or service delivery
  • Business Model Innovation – Creating new ways of delivering value
  • Social Innovation – Designing solutions to address societal challenges

Mr. Bhat also discussed various innovation-driven career paths available to engineers, such as Founder / Entrepreneur, Product Builder, Researcher, Innovation Manager.Additionally, he emphasized that engineers must actively develop essential technical and practical skills to succeed in innovation-based careers. He encouraged students to build strong foundations in coding, prototyping, electronics, CAD (Computer-Aided Design), and AI tools.

He concluded by highlighting that industry is increasingly driving innovation-based careers, and engineers who combine technical expertise with creativity and entrepreneurial thinking will be better positioned for future opportunities.
