Talk on “Science through Pictures” at Popular High School and Damodar High School, Margao

Vidnyan Parishad, Goa, invited Prof.  Pravin Verekar as a resource person to give presentations at Popular High School, Margao and Damodar High School, Margao on 13th January 2020 for their Pre-Fest activities for the SCIFFI ’20.

Prof. Pravin Verekar conducted an interactive session on “Science through Pictures” for the IXth standard students of Popular High School, Margao, from 9.30 AM to 10.30 AM on 13th January 2020. The interactive session highlighted the concepts of force and heat and their applications in engineering. At the end of the interactive session, short documentaries on “Hubble Space Telescope” and “Nasa’s Mars Rovers Spirit and Opportunity” were shown in order to create an interest in astronomy in the students. The students enjoyed the interactive presentation.

Prof. Pravin Verekar gave a presentation on “Engineering Marvels in Space Exploration” for the VIIIth and IXth standard students of Damodar High School, Margao, from 12.15 PM to 1.15 PM on 13th January 2020. The presentation consisted of short films on Hubble Space Telescope, Nasa’s Mars Rovers Spirit and Opportunity, and Voyager Mission. There was a brief introduction and conclusion given for each film. The students were engrossed when looking at the films.
