Talk on “Simulation in Science” at Vidnyan Dhara 2025 at Government High School, Sanguem

Dr Suraj Marathe, an Associate Professor in the Mechanical Department at DBCE, presented a lecture titled, “Use of Simulation in Science” at Government High School Valkini, Sanguem, on 27th February 2025, as part of Vidnyan Dhara 2025, a mega science series initiated by the Goa State Higher Education Council and the Directorate of Higher Education, aimed at fostering scientific curiosity among young individuals.

Dr. Marathe introduced the concept of simulation and highlighted its significance across various fields, including scientific experiments, cricket, military training, aircraft design, and air conditioning. To make the topic more engaging, he used gaming as an example, urging students to look beyond just playing games and explore the process behind their creation.

Dr. Marathe also emphasized the importance of mathematical concepts like algebra, variables, and word problems, helping students understand their practical applications. A key takeaway from the session was his inspiring message: “The difference between your dream life and your present life is discipline,” encouraging students to cultivate good habits for success.  Additionally, he spoke about how simulation is widely used in industries, providing students with valuable insights into its career opportunities.

Students gained a better understanding of the real-life significance of subjects like science and mathematics. Overall, the session was highly enriching, offering valuable knowledge and practical insights that left a lasting positive impact on the students.
