Talk on “Simulation in Science” at Vidnyan Dhara 2025 by Dr. Suraj Marathe
Dr Suraj Marathe, an Associate Professor in the Mechanical Department at DBCE, presented a lecture titled “Simulation in Science” at Our Lady of Fatima High School Rivona, Goa on 29th January 2025. This session was part of Vidnyan Dhara 2025, a mega series initiated by the Goa State Higher Education Council (GSHEC) and the Directorate of Higher Education (DHE aimed at fostering scientific curiosity among young individuals.
Around 120 students from class 5 to class 9 attended the session. At the outset, Principal Fr. Richard Crasto, welcomed the resource person, Dr Suraj Marathe and Tr. Palmira Rodrigues, introduced him. Dr. Suraj Marathe introduced Vidnyan Dhara 2025, through a video presentation.
Later, the term “Simulation” was explained to the students giving various examples. The concept of Simulation was explained in detail giving its uses and applications in various fields like solving word problems of mathematics, uses in manufacturing industries, constructions, gaming, robotics, etc. The topic was presented in a clear and simple manner, making it easy for students to understand and grasp. They displayed keen interest in the session
