Team Neural Kissan – DBCE, Receives Grant at the Hands of Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant

The Inauguration of the Goa University Research Park Unit (GURU) took place on September 18, 2024, marking a significant milestone in fostering innovation and entrepreneurship among students in the state. The event was graced by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Goa, Dr. Pramod Sawant, as the chief guest. The function also saw the presence of other distinguished dignitaries, including Shri Prasad Lolayekar, IAS, Secretary (Education), Government of Goa, and Prof. Harilal B. Menon, Vice-Chancellor of Goa University.

The event aimed to encourage research and start-up ventures among students, showcasing the potential of the Goa University Research Park as a hub for knowledge and innovation. One of the highlights of the event was the distribution of sanction letters under the Hand Holding and Start-up Scheme 2023-24, which provides financial assistance to innovative student projects.

Team Neural Kissan from Don Bosco College of Engineering emerged as one of the successful recipients of the grant. The team, consisting of Sai Rane, Kapil Patil, Pranav Naik and Rhys Rodrigues, received a sanction letter for a grant of Rs.60,000 to support their entrepreneurial venture. The team’s innovative project focuses on leveraging technology to assist farmers, promoting sustainable and efficient agricultural practices.

The team was mentored by Prof. Amey K. Shet Tilve, whose guidance helped shape their project. Mr. Sai Rane accepted the grant on behalf of the team, accompanied by the principal, Dr. Neena Panandikar.

The Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant, lauded the efforts of the students and emphasized the importance of initiatives like these in driving Goa towards becoming a hub of innovation. He expressed his commitment to supporting young entrepreneurs and ensuring that the state remains at the forefront of technological advancements.
