This educational initiative, organized by the Institution-Industry Cell of DBCE, aimed to promote knowledge in recent technologies. The program featured eminent personalities from both industry and academia who shared their expertise with students.

The opening speaker was the renowned Mr. Omkar Prabhu, a prominent figure in the field of engineering and technology. With over 13 years of experience as a Senior Technical Specialist and Architect at PSL, he has led numerous high-profile projects, focusing on high-traffic websites and providing big data solutions that empower businesses to make informed decisions. Currently, Mr. Prabhu serves as the Center Head at ZiMetrics, a specialized technology services and solutions provider concentrating on Data, AI, and Digital technologies.

In his presentation, Mr. Prabhu discussed ZiMetrics’ service portfolio, which includes Data Engineering, Cloud Computing, IoT, Mobility, and Enterprise AI. He emphasized the importance of mastering cloud services and staying updated with programming skills. Additionally, he introduced a data cloud platform called Snowflake.

Mr. Prabhu also presented generative AI tools, specifically Amazon CodeWhisperer and GitHub Copilot. He articulated his views on generative AI, stating, “Generative AI (GenAI) can be useful in many ways, but it’s not a silver bullet and may not be the right fit for every case.” He encouraged students to use these tools constructively.

The second speaker for Tech Talks 2024 was the esteemed academician Dr. Modi Chirag Navinchandra from NIT Goa. His expertise spans Blockchain, Cryptography, Network Security, Information Security, and Privacy, among other fields.
