Power Generation through Piped Natural Gas

The Department of Mechanical Engineering held its first webinar in Audit Course in Maintenance Engineering for the academic year 2020-2021, on April 24, 2021 . The session was delivered by Mr. Ramchandra Prabhu Salgaonkar, founder of Amaze Warriors on Power Generation through Piped Natural Gas.

The webinar was hosted via Google meet. 55 participants from the Third year Mechanical Engineering students and Faculties from Mechanical Department attended the webinar. The event was hosted and coordinated by Prof. Swapnil Ramani and Prof. Mayur Shetti. The event was initiated by Prof. Swapnil Ramani who welcomed the participants and gave a brief introduction about the resource person.

Mr. Ramchandra spoke about the different methods of power generation conventionally used and about the various use cases of Natural Gas-powered power generation. He spoke about the advantages, disadvantages and the economics of the power generation in this manner. The various equipment and their operating parameters as well as the operational challenges were highlighted. Selection and sizing of componentry were also discussed. He kept the entire session very interactive, and answered all questions as and when they came up. The students gained valuable knowledge in this area of engineering.
