Webinar on “To explore career opportunities in Technology”

On April 19, 2023, CII IWN(Confederation of Indian Industry-Indian Women Network) organized an online session on “To explore career opportunities in Technology” The Guest speakers were Ms. Lata Singh- Regional Technology Sales Director-NEB, IBN, Mr. Kshitiz Chopra- Head, Product and Strategy Delhivery, Ms. Mamta Chander- Business Consulting Leader, EY Global Delivery Services and Mr. Anand Agarwal. The talk was attended by  CII IWN DBCE student members and CII IWN DBCE faculty co-ordinator Ms. Melba D’Souza at Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda.

There was an interesting panel of speakers with different backgrounds like Ecommerce, computer science and more. They spoke about their journeys and how they have evolved. They explained about the times when these roles in technology didn’t exist, but are essential today, they inspired the students by telling them to start somewhere even small. They advised the students to work as per the present technology, and that technology is close to many fields and is more of a need in the present time. Ms. Lata Singh mentioned that “Technology is evolving and to watch out for the technology trends that are going on”.

Ms. Mamta Chander mentioned to work on the present opportunities and not to be in a bubble and to see the needs of the present time such as good communication skills, good agility and a team with diverse skills. The speakers also informed how they need skilled people and how one needs to work with a wider network of people with continuous learning and 3D Printing, Augmented and Virtual Reality, Robotics, Gaming, Automation, IoT and so on being the present top trends in technology.

The students were grateful to get this opportunity to listen to the speakers and their journeys.
