Workshop on Building Chatbot using React Native
C-Codes Student Association along with the Computer Department organized a workshop on Building Chatbot using React Native . The workshop was conducted on June 24, 2022, for second & third year computer engineering students. The resource person for the workshop was Carson Rodrigues, TE-Comp student. The coordinator for the workshop was Prof. Merwyn D’Souza.
The workshop started with the introduction to React Native. React Native is an open-source UI software framework created by Meta Platforms, Inc. It is used to develop applications for Android, Android TV, iOS, macOS, tvOS, Web, Windows and UWP by enabling developers to use the React framework along with native platform capabilities. The process of Chatbot building started by setting up the environment for React Native in CMD, following to that installing the required packages in VSCode. Post installation, the code was compiled & the android version app was demonstrated on the mobile. The code was linked to Google’s fire base along with dialogue flow essentials to process the query fired in the app.
The session concluded with sharing of the repositories & the required contents for building on the project.
