Workshop on “Refrigeration and Cold Chain”

On Friday 12^th July 2019 ISHRAE Goa Chapter had organized a workshop on “Refrigeration and Cold Chain” at The Fern Kesarval Resort & Spa, Verna Goa. The workshop was attended by Prof. Ajit Salunke, Prof. Tanay Rege and Prof. Ishan Kossambe from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda. The Resource person for the Workshop was Mr. Parth Thakkar, Director at Polfrost Aircon Pvt Ltd. & Partner at Fluorobond Industries. The participants included industry professionals from various HVAC&R fields and faculties from various institutes of Goa.

The workshop was divided into 4 sessions focusing on various areas of Cold storage and cold chain. The 1st session on “Art & Science of Blast Freezing” was delivered by Mr. Parth Thakkar, Director at Polfrost Aircon Pvt Ltd. followed by a talk on “Cold Storage Technology” by Mr. Prakash Naik, Manager- Goa Shipyard Ltd. The afternoon sessions were delivered by Mr. Parth Thakkar on “Innovations in Refrigerated Transport” and “Case Studies & Economics of Cold Storage”. The faculties had an enriching experience at the workshop and also had informative interactions with the resource persons.
