Sustainable Development Goals in Engineering Education by TLET Cell

The Teaching, Learning and Educational Technologies (TLET) Committee of Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda, organized a faculty development session on “Sustainable Development Goals in Engineering Education” on 14th March 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM at Seminar Hall 2. The session aimed to enhance faculty awareness of the role of engineering education in promoting sustainable development. It was conducted by Dr. Enu Anand, who shared insights on integrating sustainability into curricula and teaching practices.
Focusing on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially SDG 4: Quality Education, the session highlighted the importance of preparing students to tackle global challenges like climate change, resource management, and sustainable innovation. The program began with a welcome by Ms. Shweta Rane and a floral felicitation of the speaker by Dr. Amrita Naik.
Dr. Anand discussed how institutions can contribute to SDGs through teaching, research, campus operations, and community engagement. She emphasized integrating sustainability into courses through SDG mapping, case studies, interdisciplinary and project-based learning, and community engagement. Key areas included renewable energy, sustainable infrastructure, water management, and responsible manufacturing.
Interactive activities involved mapping global issues and academic courses to SDGs. The session concluded with case studies on successful SDG integration, providing valuable insights into fostering sustainability-conscious engineers.
