Session on Computer Engineering: Explore the Roles and Technologies
Training and Placement Cell and Department of Science & Humanities of Don Bosco College of Engineering organized a session on Computer Engineering: Explore the Roles and Technologies on October 26, 2022, for First Year Computer Engineering Students. The main purpose of the event was to create awareness among students of the varied roles and technologies prevalent in the industry today in Computer Engineering. The resource person Samuel Crasto, Alumnus, Batch 2019, Computer Engineering & Technical Lead at CITRIX R&D India Pvt. Ltd. narrated his academic journey at Don Bosco College of Engineering. He mentioned; “It is equally important to balance both academics as well as extracurricular activities. What matters is skills developed beyond the curriculum. Those skills are reflected in the resume and are considered by the industry.”
He also mentioned about the various roles that a Computer Engineer can fit in today in the world such as Developer, Support, Design, Management, Administrator, Teaching, etc. He highlighted the importance of doing courses through MOOC, NPTEL, SWAYAM, Coursera, etc. keeping abreast with the industry.
