Academic Leadership Program

The Directorate of Higher Education, in association with the Goa Institute of Management (GIM), successfully organized Phase IV of the Academic Leadership Programme (ALP) under the Nurturing Future Leadership Program (NFLP), as part of the Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Programme (MMTTP) by the Ministry of Education, Government of India.

To align with MoE guidelines on batch composition, participants were divided into two batches:

  • Dr. Shwetha Prasanna attended program from 9th–13th February 2026 (Batch A),
  • Dr. Gaurang Patkar & Dr. Suraj Marathe attended program from Batch B (9th–13th March 2026):

The programme offered an enriching and insightful learning experience, focusing on key aspects of academic leadership, including:  Leadership challenges in intellectually rich organizations Inclusive, sustainable, and socially responsible leadership Critical thinking and problem-solving in academic contexts Ethics, integrity, and accountability Financial acumen for academic leaders.

Leading and managing change in higher education Team dynamics and collaborative leadership AI & Generative AI with prompt engineering for educators Self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and resilience Effective communication and strategic thinking Lifelong learning and institutional alignment.

The programme concluded with engaging group presentations, where participants showcased their learning, innovative ideas, and collaborative efforts. This initiative has significantly contributed to enhancing leadership capabilities, fostering innovation, and preparing educators to navigate the evolving landscape of higher education with confidence and vision.
