Business of Technology: Importance of solution Orientation

The Institution Innovation Council in Association with Don Bosco College of Engineering (DBCE) ACM-Goa students chapter jointly organized a session on “Business of Technology: Importance of solution Orientation”

The session was held on July 6, 2022 in Seminar Hall2 of DBCE from 3:00 pm to 3:30 pm.

The speaker of the day was Mr. Suha Mallya, Executive Director, Emco Goa Pvt.Ltd. He started with Business Case which provides justification for undertaking a project, programme or portfolio. He also mentioned that it evaluates the benefit, cost and risk of alternative options and provides a rationale for the preferred solution. He explained how business technology helps increase the efficiency of systems, products and services. It helps track and streamline processes, maintain data flow and manage contacts and employee records. In fact, this increased efficiency in operation helps reduce costs as well as enable the business to grow rapidly. He also stressed on value proposition and commercial proposition.

There were total 25 students and 4 ACM professional members namely Dr. V.V Kamat, Professor-IIT (Goa); Prof. Luyala Culaco, Padre Concecao College of Engineering- Goa; Ms.Vandana Naik (Department of Higher Education-Goa); Ms. Maria Choudhary, Principal MTS, Product Dev – Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.

Finally, after the end of his presentation he answered the questions posed by students. Mr. Varad Kelkar from Second year computer engineering delivered the vote of thanks.

The webinar was very informative and appreciated by the audience. The faculty coordinator for the webinar was Dr.Gaurang Patkar.
