Field Visit to Nestle India Ltd

The CII (Confederation of Indian Industry) – IWN (Indian Women Network) DBCE Student Chapter of Don Bosco College of Engineering (DBCE) organized an industrial field trip to Nestlé India Ltd., Usgao, Goa, on March 11, 2026. The visit was attended by CII IWN student members, accompanied by the faculty coordinator, Ms. Melba D’Souza.
The field trip aimed to provide students with practical exposure to real-world industrial processes and manufacturing practices followed by a global food company.
Upon arrival, the students were briefed on the strict safety and hygiene protocols maintained within the factory premises. They were provided with safety shoes, lab coats, and hair covers. Prior to entering the production area, students followed hygiene procedures such as vacuuming their clothes to remove dust particles, washing their hands, and applying sanitizer to ensure compliance with the company’s high standards.
During the factory tour, students observed the chocolate manufacturing process and gained insight into the use of advanced machinery in production. They witnessed the seamless integration of robotics, automation, and manual labour, which highlighted the efficiency and precision of modern industrial systems. The well-organized machinery and streamlined processes reflected best practices in large-scale manufacturing.
Following the tour, Ms. Prithvi Velingkar, a senior professional in Corporate/Public Affairs at Nestlé India Ltd., addressed the students and shared insights into the company’s work culture and professional environment.
The visit concluded with refreshments, where students were served tea and chocolates. Overall, the field trip was both informative and enjoyable, offering valuable insights into the functioning of large-scale food manufacturing industries.
