FSAI Chapter Committee 2020-21 Installed at DBCE

The Mechanical Department of Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda installed the student’s Chapter committee 2020-21 of   FIRE & SECURITY ASSOCIATION OF INDIA (FSAI) on February 29, 2020. The Chief Guest for the inaugural function was Mr. K. K. Sekhar, President FSAI Goa Chapter. Also present on the dais were Director- Rev. Fr. Kinley D’Cruz, Principal- Dr. Neena Panandikar and Head of Mechanical Engineering Department – Prof. Ajit Salunke. The function began with a prayer by Ms. Malaika Korgaonkar followed by a brief report by Mr. Tejas Pandit of the activities conducted by the outgoing FSAI committee 2019-20. Prof. Ajit Salunke welcomed the guests on the occasion and said the DBCE chapter intends to create fire safety awareness among various schools of Goa. Dr. Neena Panandikar complimented the outgoing committee for the activities conducted in the field of Fire & Security and highlighted the role  of DBCE under the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan and achievements of students in the recently held waste management hackathon. Fr. Kinley D’Cruz citing a story said that management of safety and security is a serious job and wished the upcoming committee strength and courage to conduct the activities in the coming year. The Chief Guest Mr. K. K. Sekhar initiated the oath taking ceremony and installed the new FSAI chapter committee 2020-21.  He emphasised upon the importance of team work in the success of a professional organisation and complimented the leadership of DBCE for scaling great heights in such a short span.

Mr. Devendra Pingle (Police Sub-Inspector, Cyber Crime Cell, Ribandar) who was the Guest Speaker for the occasion made the students aware about Cyber Crime, risks associated with internet & online activities and various sections under Information Technology Act. The program concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Mr. Tanmay Bhagat, current President of FSAI DBCE Student Chapter . Prof. Saurabh Raikar was the coordinator for the event. The DBCE chapter has around 200 members from all the departments.
