Generative AI – Transforming Possibilities
Global Tech Summit 2024 – a 2 day summit power packed with Expert Speakers and Insightful Panel Discussions organised by Vibrant Goa Foundation was held on 22nd – 23rd March 2024. Dr. Gaurang Patkar, HOD of the Department of Computer Engineering was invited for a fire-side chat along with Mr. Pandurang Kamat, CTO of Persistent Systems Pvt. Ltd. Also present on the panel was Mr. Sujeet Shetty, President of Goa Technology Association (GTA). They were interviewed by Mr. Kapil Dhawan, Head of Development FLR Spectron Ltd.
During the fire-side chat several paramount concerns on Generative Artificial Intelligence and its future were addressed. Mr. Pandurang Kamat elaborated on enterprise-grade generative AI and its significance in today’s technological landscape. Dr. Gaurang Patkar shared his insight on the ethical considerations surrounding the use of generative AI in the academic setting. He emphasized that these tools cannot be restricted, however the results obtained from these tools should be actively moderated by the user, so as to preserve the “intrinsic essence” of the result, taking the analogy from the AI tool generating a poem but lacking meaning.
The discussion ended with a sharing of notable stories and lessons learnt from companies that have embraced generative AI in their operations.
