As part of the IEEE Day celebrations, the IEEE Student Branch at Don Bosco College of Engineering (DBCE), Goa, organized IEEE PaperQuest 2.0 on October 24th, 2025. Themed “Journey Through Technical Innovation”, the event aimed to enhance participants’ skills in research methodologies, paper analysis, and interpretation techniques by working with research papers sourced from IEEE Xplore. The event provided a comprehensive platform for students to learn how to dissect and understand academic papers, a skill essential for future careers in research. 

The hosts opened the event by emphasizing the significance of IEEE Day, marking a global recognition of technology for the benefit of humanity. The 2nd edition featured four distinct technical tracks held across various venues on campus: 

  1. AR-VR and Gaming Applications

Held in Seminar Hall 2, this track explored how immersive technologies and interactive platforms are transforming user experiences and engagement. This segment was hosted by Ms. Suzette Rodrigues & judged by  Dr. Shreyas Simu & Prof. Selvyn Fernandes.

  • Data Analytics and Cryptography

Hosted by Mr. Luke Fernandes in Seminar Hall 1, this track focused on the security and analytical processing of modern data structures.This track was judged by Prof. Manisha Faldessai, Prof. Melba D’Souza & Prof. Christina Baretto.

  • Semiconductor Technology and Design

Also hosted by Mr. Luke Fernandes in Seminar Hall 1, this track delved into the hardware and architectural innovations within the semiconductor industry. This track was judged by Prof. Manisha Faldessai, Prof. Melba D’Souza & Prof. Christina Baretto.

  • Internet of Things (IoT) and Smart Systems

Hosted by Ms. Shravani Swami in the Auditorium, this track showcased the integration of smart sensors and interconnected systems in modern infrastructure.  This track was judged by Prof. Flavia Leitao &  Dr. Mohini Naik.

The event concluded with a group photograph, capturing the collaborative spirit of the participants, judges, and organizers as they celebrated another successful milestone in technical innovation.

The event was coordinated by IEEE DBCE Student Members –  Ms. Suzette Rodrigues, Mr. Luke Fernandes and Ms. Shravani Swami managing the tracks parallely under the guidance of IEEE DBCE Branch Counselor – Prof. Yeshudas Muttu.
